For as long as I can remember, words have been my way home.

Writing helped me make sense of my inner world, and connect to something greater than myself. It was a way to transform pain into meaning, and meaning into connection.

Years later, herbs entered my life in much the same way. As I began my journey toward sobriety and deeper self-understanding, I realized that many of the feelings I was searching for — calmness, softness, clarity, groundedness, even joy — could already be found in the earth beneath my feet.

Plants became more than medicine to me. They became teachers. Through herbalism, I began rebuilding my relationship with my body, my intuition, and the natural rhythms of life. I learned how to care for myself with intention instead of escape.

As I continued down this path, the name Bahari started to speak to me — a name that reflects my East African roots and resonates deeply with my spirit. Its origins connect to the sea, and I have always admired water for its feminine wisdom: its softness, depth, adaptability, and power. Water teaches us that surrender is not weakness, and that healing does not always arrive through force, but through flow.

That philosophy lives at the center of everything I create. Whether through workshops, tea blending, storytelling, or community gatherings, my intention is to create spaces where people feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves. To remember that healing is not about becoming someone new, but returning to who you have always been.
